Secrets and lies dominate the lives of three generations of women climaxing in the revelation that we are not who we have been lead to believe we are. Marie great-granddaughter of Louise and Charles must do just that, to find the truth after the death of her grandmother. I enjoyed this book very much and found that I could not put it down. It only took me a few days to read it. Despite the rather improbable premise of the book, I was drawn to the two main characters...the young woman and her great grandmother and their developing relationship. I came to like the young woman very much and to feel very sorry for her great grandmother. The history in the book was believable and set the stage well for the narrative. The ending was really unexpected and made me rethink the entire book and the personalities involved!Product details

I loved the concept of the story line and it kept me coming back to find out what happened. However I was very disappointed with the ending as there were no bread crumbs leading us to that conclusion. I won't say what it was just as I wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone.
The downside of this book, grammar. Also I wasn't sure if it was to be first person or a mix. Ms. Lagone should have it professionally edited and re-release it. With some work I would have rated it higher. Ms. Lagone can tell a story and I would read another book from her- but if I saw, after the first few pages, she hadn't improved I wouldn't continue to read no matter how much the story intrigued me.
I wish I could get back my time, energy and money.
This story kept me captivated from start to finish. I look forward to the next book from this new author.
Don’t waste your time and money
The book was well written and I really enjoyed the middle. For a first time novelist not bad at all
I liked the story, It is an easy read. I did find the editing of the grammar very poor. Some sentences didn't make sense or where just plain worded incorrectly and poorly written. Still, I liked the story line.
